Hello! My name is Pranav and I am a second-year NPB major on the pre-med track. Some of my hobbies include working out, being in the outdoors, photography, and any sort of high-adventure activity. I am passionate about neuroscience and anything to do with the brain. I also love reading about neurological disorders and unfortunately, many of them do no have proper diagnostic techniques or cure so I hope to have an impact in that field of medicine. A fun fact about me is that I jumped off a plane from 13,000 feet and survived.

Hey everyone! My name is Tanishq Vaidya (he/him/his) and I am incredibly excited to be the treasurer of NPB club this year! I am currently a third year NPB major with a minor in psychology. I am passionate about neuroscience and neural systems and spend countless hours reading papers and articles on the subject. After graduating, I plan on attending medical school in hopes of becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon while also continuing to conduct research. Outside of academics I enjoy playing golf, reading and cooking various dishes from around the world. My favorite part of NPB club is how it is able to provide a sense of community and connection between neuroscience enthusiasts and hope to keep pushing that agenda in the future. A fun fact about me is that I have travelled to over 20 countries.

My name is Joseph Johnston, but my friends call me Joe. After hearing Joe Johnston you might be thinking that I’m the whitest person in America. You’re right. I don’t tan, I peel. The name Joe Johnston is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, my name is perfect for a WWE entrance. That being said, you lose some credibility in a diversity and inclusion seminar. In my spare time, I like to lift heavy objects repetitively. For me, weight training helps me focus, relieve stress, and look better at the lake. I love hanging out with friends, debating political issues, and learning new things. I also recently took up meditation. Honestly, I find it slightly boring and I haven’t found nirvana yet which is a bit of a letdown. I drink caffeine recreationally, and jump into various bodies of water. I currently attend UC Davis where I study NPB. Before UC Davis I attended Shasta View Academy and was concurrently enrolled in Butte College and Shasta College where I tutored Calculus and Chemistry. During that time, I served as the Vice President of Twin Palms 4-H club and represented the Peer Court Program in Northern California serving on the Shasta County Board of Directors. When I’m not in the gym, with friends, or drinking coffee, you will most likely find me in the library studying for a sadistically designed midterm.

Hello! My name is Avani and I am from Jaipur, India. I am a fourth year Psychology major with a pre-med focus. I love traveling and meeting new people, and I have been savoring my exploration of Davis and the Bay Area. My curiosity and interest in all things related to the human mind led me to the NPB Club. I am most grateful for their open and inclusive membership policy that permits a non-NPB student to benefit from their invaluable and
informative agenda and guidance. In my spare time, I like doing yoga, dabbling in watercolors, and cooking and sampling international cuisine. I am passionate about exploring the wonder that is the human brain. I would welcome a debate or a dialogue on the enigma surrounding neural activities any day of the week. |
